Thru the Leaves Ultra

We are monitoring the current Covid -19 situation. The safety of our participants and volunteers is our top priority! We will be adhering to the state and local guidelines, along with our local Parks and Liability Insurance guidelines. 

NOTE: For extra safety precautions… All of our ultra distances will be cancelled for this year. Once we get everything figured out, refunds will be issued by way of check and mailed to address given at time of registration.


100% DIRT trails. Parts of the course are hilly and technical using the mountain bike trails. Each loop will have a section of stairs, 95 steps!
80% single track.
5 Loops @ 6.2 miles.

TIME: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

TIME LIMIT: 9 hours

CUT OFF TIME: Must start last loop by 4:00 pm


Thru The Leaves 50k Solo:

  • 9 hr time limit
  • 5 Loops = 6.2 miles each
  • Access to your car
  • Plenty of room to set-up canopy at start/finish area

Thru The Leaves 50k Relay

  • 9 hr time limit
  • 2 person fun relay
  • 3 person fun relay
  • 5 person fun relay 
  • Any gender combination
  • 5 Loops: Each teammate must run at least one loop.
  • Loops can be run in any combination (alternate each loop or run all your loops at once)
  • Teammates can run last loop together!! Must cross finish line together.
  • No driving from point to point
  • Plenty of room to set-up canopy at start/finish area
  • Hang out and relax while waiting for your turn 🙂
  • Access to your car

Held at Bloomer Park, Rochester Hills, MI on the mountain bike trails. THIS IS NOT A ROAD RACE.. all distances are DIRT trails. The trails are HILLY, mostly single track with rocks and roots.

  • TWO = Fully stocked with salty, sweet, pickles, EGel, De-Fizzed Coke, water and Gatorade

DROP BAGS: At start of each loop area

  • A WELL marked course!!
  • All participants receive a pullover hoodie
  • (to guarantee hoodie size, must register by 9/26)
  • Finishers medal!
  • Post food = Pizza

  • First 1/4 mile- thru parking lot to trail, this will help with congestion at beginning. If you plan on running this fast, start in the front!
  • Next 2.75 miles- mostly single track. This is the Hilly,Technical section of the course + 95 stairs!
  • Next 2.5 miles- mostly Flat 🙂 switching back and forth from single track to wide track.
  • Last .5 mile – single track. This will circle you around the finish area, so don’t get too excited too soon.
  • ELEVATION for each 6.2 mile loop = approx. 425 ft. gain
